01 · Why this configuration matters
Gen X women did not inherit feminism as a finished operating system. We inherited it mid-installation.
We entered a labor market opening to women without having fully redesigned itself around their presence. We learned technology after technology, built careers through repeated economic and organizational change, raised families, absorbed care, and kept adapting.
Now the weight of work, care, body, money, expertise, time and possibility is shifting again. AI has entered that field, but it is not the origin story.
